On the 14th of July tonymarcussacharias is launching its first solo show at Amsterdam International Fashion Week. Its S/S 2012 collection 'Getekend door het leven' (Marked by life) is inspired by the change of the physical body. The garments create a rupture by omitting details and show a transformation over the course of the collection. Layered silhouettes with a skin tone colour palette reveal the inviting insides. A woven dress with a frayed top layer transforms its proportion while the lining remains in its original length.

Tony Marcus Sacharias (1980) started his womenswear label tonymarcussacharias after graduating at Gerrit Rietveld Academie and running an internship at ‘Orson + Bodil’ in 2010. His graduation collection ‘Imperfect aesthetics’ was selected for ‘LICHTING 10’ during Amsterdam International Fashion Week and ‘Modebelofte 2010’ during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven.

Sacharias is a conceptual fashion designer, inspired by humans in their physical shape and behaviour. His work is an observation of society and its people as individuals
